What is Shamanism?
What is Shamanism? For tens of thousands of years, our ancestors from all over the world have studied the practice of extraordinary human abilities. They have discovered how to maximize the use of mind and spirit or problem solving and physical healing. In modern times, their remarkable methodology has come to be known as “Shamanism,” a term rooted in the Siberian word “Shaman” (pronounced SHAH-mahn).
Shamans are medicine men or women distinguished by their ability to “journey” to hidden worlds including those of myth, dream and near-death experiences. The information gleaned from these journeys addresses root causes of disease or illness. Often this information, when brought to light, serves to facilitate healing of the problem on all levels rather than just alleviating symptoms.
